Good music, good smells, good memories...

There is nothing quite like hearing a song that you haven't heard in awhile. Hearing some songs can mysteriously transport you right back to exactly the place you were and what you were doing when you were hearing it for the first time.
How strangely we humans are wired.
Isn't it amazing that we can just see a picture of a slice of apple pie and remember exactly what it smells and taste like? Someone walks pass wearing a certain fragrance and your knees buckle...takes your right back to....well you know.
So what is this thing we do with our minds?
It makes me wonder if we can use this ability for other reasons?
Like, if we can remember those things just by hearing, smelling, touching etc..., what's to say that's not what's happening when you have the intense feeling that you've known a person all your life after only just meeting them.
Maybe in fact you have met that person in some other world or some other lifetime....mmmm,
