Finding Your Style…

I always say your interior spaces should reflect who you really are. But some people have a hard time trying to figure that out. As a matter of fact we go through change daily… Something someone says in a conversation, a quote you read that day or an instant revelation from a long ago memory can inspire a change in the way you see the world around you.
Hopefully we never stop growing. So what do we do…change our interior spaces everyday? You don’t have to go that far! But change doesn’t always have to something drastic…sometimes the most subtle change can make the biggest difference.
There are times when I walk into a room and it instantly zaps my energy. That’s when I know it’s time for me to move some things around…At times just adding or taking away a few accessories does the trick. Doing this changes the energy in the room…it flows differently because the pattern has been changed…it doesn’t feel stagnant anymore.
But like I said…some of us don’t know what our style is so moving some things around may help but if you still just aren’t feeling the love when you enter the space maybe your style is off. Maybe you’ve been making some internal changes but your living spaces haven’t taken that journey with you yet.

If you’re having a problem finding your style try going into your closet. Sounds strange but trust me…go into your closet. Now take out some of your favorite pieces…even accessories…shoes and handbags. Lay them out in the room that you want to change. Look at the colors…the patterns and even the fabrics. Do you have more than a couple earth toned colors in your wardrobe? Browns oranges sienna’s…you know… deep warm colors. Or are you all about the bold bright primary colors of reds blues and yellow? Maybe you have a more subdued taste in hues…cream...beige and sands…very laid back.
Now look at the style of your clothing. Are you trendy, on the conservative side or more organic and natural? Are the fabrics you usually choose more silky satiny smooth or do you like a little bit more texture against your skin…Do you like big bold prints, floral or solids?
Do the same with your jewelry…is there a lot of bling and sparkle or more natural and organic pieces? You get where I’m going right?
If you like it on your body and you feel good when you put it on then chances are you’ll like some semblance of it in your space and it‘ll make you feel good when you see there…Make sense? And guess what? You’ve found your style! Have fun getting to know you!

Live…Light…Love!
